Evidence Density — The ratio of verifiable, specific claims (statistics, data points, expert quotes, benchmarks) to total content on a page. Pages with higher evidence density are cited more frequently by AI engines because they provide concrete, extractable facts rather than opinions or generalizations.
Evidence density is one of the strongest predictors of AI citation rates. AI engines prefer content that contains specific, verifiable claims because these are easier to cite accurately. A page that says "our product is fast" is much less citable than one that says "our product processes 10,000 requests per second, 3x faster than the industry average according to the 2025 TechBench report."
To improve evidence density, add statistics with sources, include benchmark comparisons, quote specific experts, reference dated studies, and use precise numbers instead of vague qualifiers.
